Henna and Henna painting has been used for hundreds of years. The leaves of the henna plant are dried and powdered to be mixed into a paste which is used to dye the skin, hair, nails and even fabric and leather.

Traditionally henna is used on the hand and feet and gives a reddish/brown colour, which lasts between 1-3 weeks. It is completely natural and painless.

Mehndi
is the Hindi word used to describe henna and henna painting and has been used for hundreds of years. Mehndi is used in many parts of the world from India, Pakistan, and Middle East to North Africa and now here in the West. Mehndi is not only seen at weddings but also on religious occasions like Eid, Diwali and as a blessing on the birth of a child or to bring good fortune into one’s home.
